7-3-08 48 Jeepster Solid body, clean interior. Needs new top, battery and gas tank. Located nw PA. $4000 email bnajadd@aol.com

7-2-08 I have a 49 Jeepster that I bought about 10 years ago with the idea of restoring/rodding it. I started by dismantling the bodyworks as far as I could (fenders, doors, hood, bunpers, etc). And that is as far as I got. The body pieces are in good shape with some surface rust. The floor pan over the transmission is torn up as someone modified it to a floor shift. The engine had (has) a freeze plug missing so I don't know if it is salvagable or not. It is an aftermarket 6 cylinder - not sure of the designation as I am at work now. I think the overdrive was disconnected also. I have the seat and top frames - the wooden top fittings I believe are here but would need replacing. I am about to retire and I think the job would be too much for what I am able/willing to do. So, time to sell. I am located in Houston, Texas on the North side near Spring. If anyone wants to contact me for further dialog, please do and then we can go offline. I want to sell the whole shootin' match, not just parts. I can make up an inventory for interested parties and I have some photos. $1750, as is, where is. Interested? Let me know Dean Deankypke@aol.com

1-23-08 1948 Jeepster for sale: I recently bought this car at an auction, where this car was sent apparently by an estate sale. I must be honest with you; I am not really a Jeepster guy and really went to the auction to bid on a muscle car, but when I saw this car it really seemed to be in excellent restored condition. My good friend in Temecula, CA has a beautiful, (all original) 1951 Jeepster and I have always admired it. This Jeepster is great all original condition, (doesn’t appear to have any rust anywhere) and “someone” has spent a lot of time and $$$’s on the restoration. It has many “new” parts, engine, (according to the auctioneer) tire, carpets, top, (w/ glass window, & boot) side panels, shocks, and much more. There is one small tear in the driver’s seat, and it appears that where the hood hinge attaches to the underside of the hood at the rear, there has been spot welds to tack it to the hinge. Paint is in good condition, but shows some slight signs of fading. In the condition this car is in, I would like to ask around $15K for it, and would consider just about any trades, (except ex-wives) but would prefer cash… I am located in the Houston area and have pictures that I can email if you are interested. It is a 49 Jeepster, red with a new black canvas top and side curtains, a new T 400 transmission, a chevy small block corvette engine with headers, a 4 wheel drive conversion, vented hood, brushed aluminum dash, and a hurst shifter. Any information will be appreciated. Thank you, Julia Boria helpmeowt@hotmail.com

6-10-07 I have a 1948 F-161 for sale. I purchased last Fall from Florida owner. Older restoration, with good canvas top, good side curtains, boot, seats, carpet. Turn signals, heater, electric wipers. Things under my watch: rebuilt overdrive, new clutch, generator, shocks, driveshaft boots, carb overhaul, some wiring and turnsignals. Runs well. Now the 'full disclosure' items: paint is cracking, especially passenger side door and cowl - body is sound and without patches, just an older not-to-good paint job needing re-doing. Probably acceptable for a driver; not a show quality vehicle without better paint and re-plating of chrome trim. Bumpers straight and not rusted, but their plating is not show quality either. Photos at:

1948 Jeepster

Clear title, would probably drive some distance to a new home, but if you've forgotten how miserable bias ply tires are in finding secondary road imperfections, be warned that the wide whites are more suitable to parades and short tours on good roads. I'm going to be asking what I paid for it, $11,000., despite all the work mentioned above. If you follow the price guides and auction results, it seems a reasonable price if you shop carefully for a repaint and plating. Email me with questions. Thanks, George in Vermont grayluders@yahoo.com

4-27-07 My name is Greg Kowa and I have had a 49 overland Jeepster since 1977. I love the car but due to circumstances beyond my control I am looking at selling it. Unfortuntely the engine is not the original but most everything else is. The history of the car is as follows - I bought the Jeepster (running) in 1977 from a guy who started restoring it. I had it painted (brown), had a top made and drove it around town for a while until I had some tranny trouble. Had the tranny rebuilt and then the motor went. Got screwed over by a service station, parked it in a garage where it sat until 2000. A mercedes mechanic I knew, knew a guy who had started putting stuff together to restore a military jeep but had a stroke. The new motor had been rebuilt (Conn Bearing)
and was still in the crate. Not the one that came with this Jeepster but the same flat four)
type. I bought it and my friend did the work to put it back on the road. He did the motor swap,)
had a new gas tank and radiator made, went through the wiring, etc, etc, and off I went.

Drove it around town and a few short day trips for a few years and still had the)
intention of eventually restoring it to original. Then life got in the way, I got too)
busy to use it much and I eventally let the registration/insurance run out. )
It has pretty much sat in the garage for the last five years except for when I would )
occasionally fire it up and run it around the parking lot.

This Feb I had to move and lost the garage and have too much on my plate so it seems the best thing to do is find a good home for it. It runs fine
and just needs someone to put a little time and attention to her looks although nothing major
until someone was ready to do a real serious restoration.
I also have several boxes of parts, some old that came with the military job, and some)
new I bought but never installed and also the old engine and even a rolling chassis with plow!)
Also Parts Catalogue and Mechanics manuel and some papers/schematic for the manuel overdrive setup.

Have had a couple of low ball offers here but not from a serious Jeepster enthusiast who)
make the most of the Jeepster and / or all the parts.

The Jeepster is at a friend's service station in Middletwon Ct - Ron's Service - 860-346-5551 and Ron has full authority to transact on my behalf if I am off on the road. Email me for pictures: GKowa32134@aol.com
